CHC52021 Diploma of Community Services will prepare an individual for a wide range of roles within the Community Services sector, including case management and the management, coordination and/or delivery of person-centred services to individuals, groups and communities. This course can also be a pathway to tertiary education.

At this level, workers have specialised skills in community services and work autonomously under broad directions from senior management. Workers are usually providing direct support to individuals or groups of individuals. Workers may also have responsibility for the supervision of other workers and volunteers and/or case management; program coordination or the development of new business opportunities.

After the completion of this course, you will be ready to take on a variety of job roles within the industry like –

The total course duration for CHC52021 Diploma of Community Sector Management is 78 weeks. This includes:

  • Compulsory orientation and course induction on the first Monday of every month.
  • 20 hours per week x 78 weeks (inclusive of compulsory holiday breaks)

  • Applicants must have completed year 12 schooling (or equivalent).
  • Applicants should be a minimum of 17 years of age at the time of application and must be 18 years of age at the commencement of the course.
  • Students must also be able to obtain several security clearance checks.

*On 26 July 2023 the TOEFL internet-based test (TOEFL iBT) stopped offering English language tests for Australian visa purposes. A score for a TOEFL iBT test taken on or after 26 July 2023 will no longer satisfy the English language requirement for Student visa purposes. Only TOEFL iBT scores from a test taken on or before 25 July 2023 are accepted for Student visa purposes.

**From 12 February 2024, only results from the paper-based Cambridge C1 Advanced test (previously known as Cambridge English: Advanced CAE) will be accepted for Australian visa and migration purposes. Test scores for both C1 Advanced paper-based and computer-based tests, taken before 12 February 2024, within the specified validity period are still accepted.

Prospective students must complete in FULL an International Student Application and Statement of Purpose, attaching ALL requisite supporting documentation.

CHC52021 Diploma of Community Services is made up of 20 units of competency (12 core units and 8 elective units).  DP Training has selected these elective units to reflect the current needs of the industry.

Students must meet the theory and placement requirements of each unit of competency within the course duration of 78 weeks.

To receive an award for this qualification Students are required to complete all units listed above as competent and meet the requirements of at least 200 hours of vocational placement within a period of 78 weeks.

Students will be provided with all the learner and assessment guides for each unit of competency required to complete the course.

DP Training has industry partnerships with a number of highly regarded aged care, Disability, and Community Service Providers to support students undertaking 200 hours of mandatory vocational placement. Students must demonstrate the skills and knowledge learned in the classroom and through practical simulations on the workplace.

To be eligible to undertake a vocational placement, you will need to complete several security checks and comply with any vaccination requirements. This may include, but is not limited to:

  • A National Police Check or Statutory Declaration 
  • Fully vaccinated against Covid-19 with a vaccine recognised by Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration
  • Have a current flu vaccination
  • NDIS workers screening check
  • Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
