Course Description

Completing The White Card (Construction Induction Training Card) course is compulsory if you want to work in the construction industry. This course emphasises the importance of ensuring your safety and that of your colleagues while working on a construction site.

At DP Training, we pride ourselves on delivering quality White Card courses. Our current course provides the information in a fun and engaging environment, ensuring our participants walk away knowing how to be safe on site.

All states and territories have agreed to implement the National Code of Practice for Induction for Construction Work, which Safe Work Australia has declared.

The result is a nationally consistent approach to construction induction training given to workers across Australia. It will also mean that White Cards / CITCs from any Australian state or territory are recognised nationally.

White Card (Construction Induction Training Card) offered by DP Training is Nationally Recognised and accepted across Australia. Overseas students on international student visas can complete this course.

Your White Card will not expire. However, if you have been out of the construction industry for a period of two years or more, you will need to redo the course.

We’ll help you cultivate a culture of learning

Employment Opportunities

As a general rule, a White Card is required for jobs on a construction site. In QLD, this includes:

  • Site managers
  • Supervisors
  • People who access operational construction zones (when unaccompanied or not directly supervised by an inducted person)
  • Surveyors
  • Labourers
  • Tradespeople
  • Workers who routinely enter operational construction zones for work

Course Delivery

Class Based (face to face)

Regular classes will run from our Brisbane training location, providing you with the flexibility to fit in with your schedule. All classes are delivered by qualified, industry-experienced Trainers who work closely with students to optimise their learning experience.

  • One day classroom-based training from 8.30 am – 2.30 pm
  • The nominal hours identified for this unit of competency is six (6) hours. With competency-based training, if a learner already has defined skills, knowledge and experience, a reduced amount of training may be enough to ensure they fully absorb the required knowledge and gain the skills required for this unit of competency. This, in turn, is reflected in the learner’s progression rate through the unit of competency.
  • All equipment for practical assessment, including Hard Hat, High-Visibility Retro-Reflective Vest, Eye Protection, and Hearing Protection, will be provided by DP Training.

Upon completing the assessment and verification, you’ll receive your Statement of Attainment online and the physical white card will be issued on the day of training. This document serves as proof of completing a White Card course and grants access to construction sites.
