Course Description

Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management reflects the role of workers who are middle managers or managers across a range of community sector organisations. These people work independently and report to executive management, directors or boards of management. They undertake a range of functions requiring the application of knowledge and skills to achieve results in line with the organisation’s goals and strategic directions.

At this level, workers have responsibility for planning and monitoring service delivery, recruitment and performance management of other paid or unpaid workers, managing risk and contributing to continuous improvement within the scope of their specific role. This may include management of a specific programs or projects, or broader management of a community-based organisation, early childhood education service, not-for-profit organisation or community centre.

DP Training’s clients are dominantly existing workers/supervisors/managers who have at least 12 months experience across a number of industry sectors including childcare and community services and the health industry and whom are seeking higher level skills and knowledge to support their job role.

  • Potential Learners will be individuals of all backgrounds, non-specific gender and all age groups
  • DP has multiple campuses across Queensland and additional campuses in New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia + strong industry links, therefore students are likely to be existing workers who are in the position to commit to study and work and/or industry placement hours in a quest to secure higher level employment
  • All students will be screened for course eligibility including LLN testing. Students from diverse backgrounds who may be identified as potentially experiencing LLN difficulties will be supported throughout their journey and/or referred to specialist LLN programs to upskill

Course Delivery

Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management is delivered via DP Learnign@Home model, offering the opportunity to study your way

RPL

Course Entry Requirements

The target learners and entry requirements for this course must:

  • be over 18 years of age, and no longer attending secondary school
  • undertake Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Skills Indicator assessment questionnaire
  • ability to undertake a vocational placement, which includes manual handling tasks
  • Obtain security clearances*
  • Have technological skills to undertake computer/online work and have access to a computer and software with the following minimum specifications
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader/Adobe Flash Player and up to date internet browser

*Security Clearances: Some qualifications require a security clearance (e.g., police check, valid blue card and/or yellow card) in order for the student to be eligible to undertake practical and/or vocational placement. Additionally, individual host organisations may have different requirements regarding vaccinations. Please discuss these with our Administration Team during the enrolment process and/or refer to the DP Training website for more information. Please note there are mandatory vaccination requirements within each state and it is up to the student to ensure they are complying with their own state, territory legislation and workplace organisation policies and procedures.

Fees & Funding
  • Course Fee – $4850
  • RPL assessment – total assessment fee $1500, then if applicable , $100 per unit of gap training capped at 10 units

A $250 deposit is required prior to commencing training and assessment, with fortnightly and monthly payment plans to pay the remaining fees.
